Healing trauma, relationships and anxiety by healing your mind, body & spirit

Healing trauma, relationships & anxiety by healing your mind, body & soul

Most people are aware of the mind-body connection. Our bodies hold our emotions and past traumatic experiences. When something affects one, it affects the other.

Sometimes your body will let you know when you’re emotionally suffering, such as with muscle tension, gastrointestinal problems, or headaches resulting from anxiety, stress, or grief. Sometimes, your body may be trying to tell you something and your brain isn’t ready to process what’s going on. When this happens, you may need an expert to help you understand what’s going on or to guide you through healing from a traumatic experience.

But, sometimes your mind, body, and spirit need an experienced healer to help you reconnect with your body, mind, soul, and spirit. You need an expert you can trust.

Reconnecting with your mind, body, spirit & soul

Welcome to the next featured blog post in my guest blogging series, where I’m highlighting the amazing work of business owners, specialists, healers, and mental health professionals in Lebanon, Harrisburg, Philadelphia, York, and Lancaster, PA.

Ramona Ndlovu

Today, I’m honored to feature, Ramona Ndlovu, a marriage and family therapist, who uses a holistic approach to help people heal and reconnect with their minds, bodies, spirits, and souls. She’s passionate about helping women who’ve experienced childhood trauma and the people who love them.

Ramona helps her clients learn more about themselves, heal their spirits, and gain self-acceptance through her love of the expressive arts. In addition to being a master’s level marriage and family therapist, she’s also a licensed massage therapist, certified somatic therapist, Reiki master, Embodied Female Pleasure Coach, SoulCollage® facilitator, and spiritual director. She’s also a passionate textile artist.

So, without further ado, check out my interview with Ramona Ndlovu.

Why did you decide to become a marriage and family therapist in Lebanon County?

My grandmother taught me the importance of serving in the community where you live and then branching out from there. When I first moved to PA I worked in Harrisburg, later Lancaster, Elizabethtown, and now Annville.

What specialized therapy services do you offer in Pennsylvania?

The specialized services I offer are marriage and family therapy combined with somatic therapy; massage therapy combined with somatic therapy, spiritual direction combined with somatic therapy, energy work combined with almost anything, and Embodied Female Pleasure coaching combined with somatic therapy. I also offer SoulCollage® and textile arts instruction. I offer speaker services, retreat leading, workshops, and group coaching programs. All the work I do is focused on helping people, particularly women, live in the world healed and whole in body, mind, and spirit.

How does your work with somatic therapy and other specialties help people who struggle with anxiety and relationship problems?

For many of my clients who struggle with anxiety and/or relationship problems, I work to help them regulate their emotions, connect to and bring forth their inner resources, learn skills to help them clarify their values and desires, accept themselves and take the necessary action toward their desires.

Who do you love helping in your therapy practice?

I love working with women, especially black women and other racialized women. In general, any client who comes with a fairly open mind ready to learn and work is an ideal client for me. I’ve worked with a few delightful young men and lots of couples also.

What can people expect during their first therapy appointment with you?

After a 20-minute Discovery Session to see if we would be a good fit to work together our first session would typically include an orientation to therapy with me, clarifying their goals for therapy, an opportunity for them to ask questions that may have come up, and the beginning of a comprehensive genogram, which is like a family tree that details the relationships within the family.

What do you wish people knew about working with you and the services you offer in Lebanon?

Although my practice is based in Central PA, I want people to know all of my services, except massage and marriage and family therapy, are available to anyone in the world. I’ve worked with folks on the East coast, the West Coast, Europe, and Australia. The services I offer are uniquely crafted for each person.
