Borderline Personality Disorder Quiz

Borderline Personality Disorder Quiz

May is Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) Awareness Month

In honor of Borderline Personality Disorder Awareness Month, (Yes, I KNOW that this post is late… I’m thinking better late than never, right?) I created a Borderline Personality Quiz, to bring additional awareness to this very much misunderstood, stigmatized disorder.

BPD Fact-

The term, “Borderline”, coined by a 1938 psychoanalyst, Adolf Stern, refers to the “border” between neurosis and psychosis. However, it’s actually a misnomer because BPD has little in common with most psychotic disorders.

Emotion Dysregulation Disorder, a more accurate term

So, what does BPD look like?

The most defining feature of Borderline Personality Disorder is that of emotion dysregulation. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) creator, Dr. Marsha Linehan, came up with the more accurate term of “Emotion Dysregulation Disorder”.

The other patterns of behavior reflected in BPD include dysregulation in the following areas: interpersonal, self, behavioral, and cognitive. For more details and clarification on these, click here or here.
